University of the Philippines Broadcasting Association

The UP-CMC Broadcasting Association is a College of Mass Communication student organization based in the University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines. Founded in 1968, BroadAss thrives today in meeting its vision of becoming the elite student production outfit, providing the unsurpassed hands-on training for future mass communicators.

It has produced some of Philippine media’s most illustrious name: Senator Loren Legarda, Tessie Tomas, Maryo J. delos Reyes, Dodie Lacuña, Ogie Alcasid, Raffy Barreiro, Sari Yap, Vicky Florendo, Luchi Cruz-Valdez and a host of others.

Members of BroadAss (the "Assers") have come and graduated but have had one thing in common since the reconstruction of the membership method. The shift from the usual sign-up process to a three-week application. This application, infamous for its difficulty, tests, screens and trains hopefuls who can continue the legacy and reputation established by the organization's alumni.
